Dr. Gibbs is trained in and practices Emotion Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT). Feeling disconnected or ignored by your partner can be maddening, scary and/or sad. Emotionally Focused Psychotherapy (EFT) is a treatment with proven effectiveness in helping couples find their way back to each other. For all of us, when we feel heard, understood and protected by our partner anything is possible. In the absence of this, no matter how well other aspects of our life seem to be going, we can never feel quite right. EFT focuses on helping couples regain or establish the feeling of safety and trust in their relationship and offers a roadmap of how to work out difficulties, rather than feeling like you're constantly hitting dead ends.
